ABOUT US
CHRISTINE COUTCH SHIMP started her dance training with Barbara Adams at the age of three. As a teen, she taught at Adam's Dance Academy in Elmer and was a member of the Delaware Valley Jazz Company, also, taking tap lessons from Corrine Gangi in Pitman and briefly teaching at South Jersey Danceworks, also in Pitman. 
She began her teacher training in 1982 with Mary E. Sisome of Audobon, in the Royal Academy Ballet Syllabus, receiving distinction and honors on her exams in grade 1-5. And in 1983 began a small summer program, with eight students, at Old Cedar Campground in Monroeville.
Christine furthered her dance training at West Chester University in Pennsylvania as a member of the WCU Dance Team, before transferring to Rowan University in New Jersey. She continued with her summer program that was growing year by year. Upon graduating from Rowan, she decided to turn the summer program into a full-time studio. 
However, opening the studio is not where the training ended. Christine began taking classes and performing with Ballet South under the direction of Shawn Doyle, as well as attending various workshops in NYC and Las Vegas. Most recently, she has attended the Dance Teacher Web Conference and Expo in Las Vegas, and ITDI workshops in Maple Shade, NJ. In addition to the Royal Academy Teaching Certification, she has completed a three year program from Dance Educators of America in NYC & Las Vegas, with certification in tap, ballet and jazz dance, and was a member of DEA and was a director and member of International Teachers of Dance. Yearly, she travels to Las Vegas for the Dance Teacher Web Convention & Expo, to learn from the country’s top "teacher's teachers!"  She is excited to further her dance training this summer by attending the convention again along with her staff!

LAUREN SCHAFFER After a 5 years apprenticeship studying Al Gilbert’s Graded Tap Curriculum & Janice Barringer Ballet Syllabus, Miss Lauren joined us as a full teaching member of the CSOD staff in September 2010. She has taught combo classes in levels 1, 2, 3, as well as preschool dance. Miss Lauren has spent the last 21 years studying at CSOD as well as various workshops taking class from professional dancers from around the country.  Miss Lauren has attends dance teacher conventions in Las Vegas  rom the Dance Teacher Web Convention & Expo.   She has also done choreography for musical theatre and colorguard.  She holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Early Elementary Education from Rowan University and teaches kindergarten. 

BRIANNA SMITH has grown up at Christine's Studio of Dance. She began student teaching as a teen and became an instructor in 2011 and office manager in 2012. Ms Bree also studied at the Dance Academy at A.P. Schalick High School and Dance Teacher University UNLV.  She will be attending her 6th Dance Teacher Web Conventioin & Expo this summer to study studio business, injury prevention, and costuming, in addition to classes in all forms of dance.  She holds Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Wilmington University.  This spring, with the semi-retirement of Ms Chrissy, Bree was promoted to manager of CSOD.  After dancing at CSOD for 21 years she is excited to run the studio that has been her second home. 

JACQUELINE MCLAY has been with CSOD for five years teaching jazz, lyrical, ballet, pointe, & modern.  She began her dance education at the age of four at Chez Dance in Turnersville, NJ. As a company member at Chez Dance she trained in jazz, ballet, modern, tap, hip hop, pointe, lyrical and improvisation.   She was a member of Infatuation Dance Company in Philadelphia, a jazz and modern based company under the artistic direction of Tess Stumpf.  She has performed in various places throughout the Philadelphia and New York region such as the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, WAX Works, Pulse Tour Convention, & with the Atlantic Contemporary Ballet. She graduated from Temple University with degree in Marketing and a Minor in Dance.  She has danced with Roger Lee Dance Artistry at the Performance Garage in Philadelphia and modeled for Costume Gallery, a dance costume catalog. In August she will be attending Dance Teacher Web Conventioni and Expo for her fifth time.

ANDRIANNA BEEBE started  her dance career at the early age of 2 at Christine's Studio of Dance. Through the years, she continued training as a dancer in ballet, pointe, tap, hip-hop, lyrical, modern and jazz. She has also attended workshops learning from choreographers and teachers from around the country including a preliminary workshop dancing alongside the Sixer’s Dream Team Dance Team.  In 2010, Ms. Ange began student teaching hip hop and pre-school classes and  developed a new class for CSOD entitled “For the Love of Dance,” which focused on expression, technique and strength in various genres. Ms Ange also taught jazz, creative pre-school, and hip hop at Rising Stars Cheer & Dance School in Millville, NJ. She plans on continuing her dance education by attending the Dance Teacher Web Conference & Expo this summer. Ms. Ange continutes her dance education with  frequent trips to NYC taking class at Broadway Dance Center. 
JENNIFER HANNER  Jennifer began taking ballet classes at the age of six in Bordentown, NJ at "The Ballet School."  At the age of ten, she continued her training with Ballet Austin Academy, the official school of Ballet Austin in Texas.  She went on to perform with that company in the corps de ballet.  Jennifer was also fortunate enough to receive private coaching with Pixie Bevans of London Festival Ballet, now the English National Ballet, Barbro Roland of Ballet Caravan (the original New York City Ballet) and the Birgit Cullberg Ballet, and Thomas Hanner of San Fransico Ballet.  She also has performed as a soloist with the Mt. Vernon Ballet Company of Baltimore, MD and Ballet South.  Jennifer has taught regularly and given guest classes at over 30 different schools in the Delaware Valley.  She looks forward to many more years of working with young people on developing their skills and character through the discipline of ballet.  We are excited to welcome Ms Jennifer to CSOD.
ASHLEY ADAMS  began her dance education at CSOD at the age of 3.  She has performed in The Nutcracker and Cinderella with South Jersey Ballet.  She attends summer intensives with studying classical ballet, pointe, modern and jazz.  This summer Ashley is looking forward to attending her first Dance Teacher Web Convention and Expo in Las Vegas this summer.  We are so proud of the dancer and instructor she has become.
